Do not let your career development be stopped

Career development is a very important part of “Human Development”. The unemployment crisis is raging in the country,  the main reason behind this problem is that there are a huge number of youths passing out from schools and colleges every year, and there are many new career options and job roles being added to various industries in well. And a recent survey by an online career-counselling platform has proved that the majority of Indian students are aware of just seven career paths, even though there are 250 career options that can be pursued in India — most new and in-demand.

The survey on the awareness of career options among Indian students was conducted among 10,000 participants.93% of students were unaware of more than seven career options. The responses collected in the survey showed that a staggering 93% of the students who participated in the survey were aware of just seven career options — law, engineering, medicine, accounts and finance, design, computer applications and IT, and management. The main 4 factors which affect career developments are as follows-The first important factor is Personality of Person/Students, Education, completed training and courses, Behaviour and self – presentation, and the last one is Willingness to do the things.

This pandemic has left every person in doubt and fear; especially the parents. Parents are very afraid about their children’s career development. I have a question for those parents-“Have you ever been so afraid of failing at something that you decided not to try it at all?” Many of us probably experienced this at one time or another. The fear of failing can be immobilizing – it can cause us to do nothing, and therefore resist moving forward. But when we allow fear to stop our forward progress in life, we’re likely to miss some great opportunities along the way. Many students are afraid of these virtual education systems. But students can overcome this problem by taking proper career guidance, boosting self-confidence, a willingness to try only those things that you know you will finish perfectly and successfully.

Parents can take advice from career gurus. They can also enroll their children in workshops, they can attain webinars, etc. There are lots of sources available for us just a click away to make your career bright.
