Space Tech Careers in India 2026: ISRO, Skyroot, Agnikul, Pixxel

For most of India's space history, "space career" meant ISRO. 1. The most direct path is IIST Thiruvananthapuram — a four-year BTech that absorbs nearly every graduate into ISRO.
2. Second-strongest is a strong aerospace, mechanical, electrical, ECE, or CS bachelor's with summer internships at ISRO or a private space company.
3. Build a visible project: a CubeSat club contribution, a launch-vehicle simulation, or a satellite-data analysis. Private space companies actively screen for demonstrated work.
4. Apply to ISRO via ICRB for ISRO roles; apply directly to private companies for private roles.
